Bain, Terralytiq Partner to Provide Supply Chain Decarbonization Solutions
Global management consulting firm Bain & Company and supply chain decarbonization intelligence solutions startup Terralytiq announced the launch of a new strategic partnership, aimed at enabling companies to optimize supply chains for carbon and costs, and to help deliver lower carbon products.
Founded in 2023, Terralytiq provides a platform providing companies with transparency into industrial value chains, automating the collection of Scope 3 data to enable tracking of suppliers’ progress towards decarbonization goals. The company’s solutions enable users to calculate product carbon footprints and identify carbon hotspots, and helps generate initiatives considering cost and carbon impact to enable sustainable procurement. The company has set an ambition to reduce one billion tons of industry emissions by 2030.
Alexander Pfeiffer, co-founder & CEO at Terralytiq, said:
“Early adopters of our solutions have been known to cut Scope 3 data-collection time by up to 70% while identifying multimillion-dollar cost and risk savings. We are thrilled to be partnering with Bain at a global level to remain at the forefront of worldwide decarbonization efforts, providing valuable insights to executives tasked with hard wiring resilience into their value chains as they simultaneously cut emissions.”
According to the companies, under the new collaboration, Bain and Terralytiq will co-develop a set of enhanced offerings backed by Terralytiq’s AI-driven Scope 3 intelligence platform and decarbonization copilot solution, providing companies with granular emissions data, supplier- and facility-specific product carbon footprinting capabilities based on procurement data, and automated supplier outreach.
The companies said that the partnership is currently supporting clients across energy and natural resources, manufacturing, technology, and financial services sectors, and is expected to be rolled out to further industries this year.
Torsten Lichtenau, Senior Partner and Global Head of Bain & Company’s Carbon Transition Impact Area, said:
“Scope 3 emissions are notoriously difficult to both measure and abate. This strategic partnership will give our clients access to enhanced analytics tracking capabilities backed by Bain proprietary benchmarks and strategic insight, turning raw data into board-ready cases aimed at informing business leaders who are working to crack Scope 3 and beyond.”
