CGI, Persefoni Partner to Deliver Carbon Accounting Platform
Persefoni hires SEC’s Kristina Wyatt as SVP Global Regulatory Climate Disclosure
Climate management and accounting platform (CMAP) provider Persefoni and IT consulting and services company CGI announced today a new agreement to work together, delivering Persefoni’s CMAP platform to CGI’s clients.
Launched in 2020, Persefoni’s SaaS platform enables enterprises and institutional investors to measure, analyze, plan, forecast, and report on their carbon footprint, leveraging AI to provide users with contextual sustainability performance scores for their organization and allowing them to manage their carbon transactions and inventory with the same rigor as their financial ones.
Persefoni’s CMAP focuses on the world’s standards of sustainability frameworks, avoiding approaches to calculation and data sourcing that create gaps in trust and disclosure problems caused by lack of auditability.
Persefoni CEO and Co-founder, Kentaro Kawamori, said:
“CGI has built a reputation as one of the world’s most respected IT and business consulting firms, with recognized expertise providing its customers market-leading solutions. Persefoni is delighted to be working together to introduce our award-winning Climate Management and Accounting Platform to CGI clients and help them as they plan strategies to collect data, manage, disclose, and then execute on their decarbonization journey.”
Mark Boyajian, Executive Vice-President, Chief Business Engineering Officer and Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) Forum representative, CGI, said:
“CGI is deeply committed to leading on climate change action, both as a global organization and in supporting our clients as we all tackle this complex problem. We are very pleased to be building this relationship with Persefoni, whose innovative climate platform is based on data management and transparency – two areas where CGI has significant experience.”
Persefoni also announced today the appointment of Kristina Wyatt as Deputy General Counsel and Senior Vice President of Global Regulatory Climate Disclosure. In her new role, Wyatt will lead overall counsel and direct the company’s customer portfolio through evolving ESG disclosure requirements. She joins from United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), where she served as Senior Counsel for Climate and ESG to the Director of the Division of Corporation Finance.
Kawamori, said:
“We are excited to welcome Kristina to our leadership team, especially at this critical moment for ESG disclosures. Her extensive sustainability leadership and rich legal background across key areas, including sustainability disclosure and policy and ESG matters will be instrumental to customers as they chart a new climate future amid growing climate-related disclosure regulations and mandates.”
Wyatt added:
“The sustainability challenges that the world faces are complex and daunting, and data is the single most critical aspect in addressing the climate crisis. Persefoni is addressing the single greatest impediment to progress in minimizing climate change, and offers the best technology that puts reliable, actionable data in companies’, investors’ and governments’ hands to help them on their ESG journey and commitments. I am thrilled to join Persefoni’s industry-leading team and continue to forge meaningful change in helping organizations across the globe seek their carbon truth, identify new ways to operate and overall reduce their impact on the environment.”
