Deutsche Bank Investment Bank Appoints Esra Turk as Global Head of Sustainable Finance
Deutsche Bank Investment Bank announced today the appointment of Esra Turk to the newly created role of Global Head of Sustainable Finance.
Turk takes on her new role leading the investment bank’s sustainable finance franchise after over 4 years at Deutsche Bank, most recently serving as Head of CEEMEA Institutional Client Group and Chair of the Investment Bank for Middle East & Africa. Prior to joining Deutsche Bank in 2021, she worked at Barclays Investment Bank in several senior roles, including as Head of Emerging Markets Origination, EMEA and Americas, and Chairman of Middle East North Africa.
Deutsche Bank’s investment banking business has been the largest contributor to the bank’s sustainable finance volumes over the past several years, recording €253 billion in sustainable financing since 2020, delivering more than half of the bank’s target to achieve €500 billion of sustainable financing and investment volumes between 2020 and 2025. Deutsche Bank recorded its strongest sustainable finance quarter in four years, in the bank’s recently released Q2 2025 results.
In a post announcing the new appointment, Deutsche Bank’s Chief Sustainability Officer, Jörg Eigendorf, said:
“We see particularly exciting opportunities in emerging markets where demand for renewable energy is growing fast, but infrastructure still needs to be developed. There is huge scope to make a difference.
“With her deep client insights and her experience of running FIC Coverage in Central & Eastern Europe, Middle East, Africa and Latin America for Deutsche Bank, Esra is perfectly suited to lead our sustainable finance franchise to the next level globally.”
