As a sustainability professional for more than 20 years, I see this as the next trend in the ‘professionalization’ of ESG. What is a nice to have will fast become a competitive differentiator, as more and more come to understand that the ‘intangible’ assets that are best managed through corporate responsibility efforts are now more material (important) to a business’ long-term success than the physical and financial assets that used to be the main drivers of value.

This is where the trend IS today. Kudos for IFRS for recognizing the fast-emerging NEED to do this. I’ll share a link to my specific article on this subject, which offers research supporting my assertions.
