Impact Investing Advisory Human Planet Hires Sabrin Rahman to Lead MENA Expansion
Global impact finance firm Human Planet announced the appointment of former HSBC sustainability leader Sabrin Rahman as Partner, responsible for leading the company’s expansion into the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).
Launched in 2022, Human Planet is a global impact finance-focused firm, providing advisory services aimed at helping NGOs, governments, and investors to mobilize capital for large-scale climate action and sustainable development projects. The company’s core offerings include blended finance structuring, impact fund design, carbon project development, and results-based financing mechanisms.
Rahman joins the firm after more than 14 years at HSBC, most recently serving as Managing Director- Head of Sustainability Europe, Middle East, Africa and Turkey, where she led major sustainable finance and philanthropy initiatives, and helped mobilize billions of dollars in capital towards climate and just-transition goals. She also served as Director of Partnerships for COP28 UAE, helping to shape the UAE Presidency’s Action Agenda and the UAE Consensus.
The new appointment marks Human Planet’s formal entry into the MENA region, with Rahman responsible for spearheading the firm’s efforts to build innovative funding structures tailored to regional needs in climate and sustainability. In a post announcing the appointment, Rahman said that her focus will be on areas such as climate, health, nature, education, and livelihoods projects.
