LafargeHolcim and Schlumberger Partner on Development of Carbon Capture & Storage Solutions
Leading building materials company LafargeHolcim and energy services company Schlumberger’s low-carbon technologies business Schlumberger New Energy announced today a new partnership aimed at exploring the development of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) solutions.
According to the partners, the companies will study the feasibility of capturing carbon from two LafargeHolcim cement plants, based in Europe and North America, using Schlumberger’s carbon sequestration technologies. The companies stated that the collaboration is a step towards developing a blueprint for large-scale deployment of Carbon Capture and Storage solutions in transformational sectors.
