T. Rowe Price Appoints Matt Lawton as Head of Impact Fixed Income
Global investment manager T. Rowe Price announced the appointment of Matt Lawton as Head of Impact Fixed Income.
T. Rowe Price launched its first impact credit strategy, the Global Impact Credit Strategy, in 2021, focused on investing in companies that create positive and measurable impact while also seeking outperformance. The firm added a new Global Impact Short Duration Bond Strategy in 2024, and has announced plans to create a global blue bond strategy to increase access to finance for blue projects in emerging markets.
Lawton joined T. Rowe Price in 2011, and has most recently been serving as lead portfolio manager for the Global Impact Credit Strategy and the Global Impact Short Duration Bond Strategy. In his new position, he will continue to lead the strategies, while also taking on responsibility for building out and scaling the firm’s impact fixed income business, overseeing a team of impact fixed income investment professionals.
Samy Muaddi, Head of Emerging Markets Fixed Income at T. Rowe Price, said:
“Matt’s proven investment track record and commitment to expanding our impact fixed income capabilities make him perfectly suited for this role. He’ll be working in close collaboration with Willem Visser, sector portfolio manager for Emerging Markets and Impact Fixed Income, and more broadly with our responsible investing, impact equity, and fixed income research teams. This new position highlights our commitment to thoughtful, cohesive leadership, and strengthening our strategic engagement with clients.”
