Aerospace giant Boeing announced today the appointment of Chris Raymond to the newly created position of Chief Sustainability Officer, effective October 1. Raymond will report to Greg Smith, Executive Vice President, Enterprise Operations and Chief Financial Officer. The company also announced that it has named Marc Allen as Chief Strategy Officer, reporting to President and CEO David Calhoun.

Raymond is a Boeing veteran, having been with the company for over 30 years, most recently in the role of Vice President – Sustainability, Strategy & Corporate Development. He has held several senior positions at the company, including Vice President of Embraer Integration (until the partnership was terminated in April 2020), Vice President and General Manager, Autonomous Systems, and Vice President and General Manager of several businesses involving integrated missile defense, sensors and signals intelligence, and undersea capability.

In his new role of Chief Sustainability Officer, Raymond will be responsible for advancing Boeing’s approach to sustainability that is focused on environmental, social and governance priorities, stakeholder-oriented reporting and company performance. Operating within the Enterprise Operations, Finance and Sustainability organization, he will lead a team that collaborates across Boeing’s commercial, defense and services businesses and its enterprise functions in support of the company’s commitment to responsible and inclusive business practices and positive global impact.
