LexisNexis Maps Global Patents to UN SDGs, Providing Insights into Sustainable Innovation Landscape
Legal, regulatory, and business information and analytics provider LexisNexis announced today the launch of new extension to its intellectual property analytics solution, LexisNexis PatentSight, mapping the global patent system to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), providing users with a view of the global sustainable innovation landscape.
Andrew Matuch, President of LexisNexis Intellectual Property Solutions, said:
“Sustainable technology development is highly dynamic and competitive; by unlocking patent data as a rich new reference source, LexisNexis is providing the innovation community unparalleled insights into sustainable innovation on a global basis.”
The UN SDGs refer to the 17 categories of goals adopted as part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by world leaders at the United Nations Sustainable Development Summit in September 2015, with the aim to protect the planet and improve the quality of life globally. SDG targets include ending poverty and hunger, improving education, and protecting the environment.
The new solution aims to make sustainable-focused innovation identifiable, searchable, and trackable by connecting the global patent system to the SDGs, providing insight into sustainable innovation on a global basis, and allowing users to analyze innovation strength across distinct fields of sustainability.
“At LexisNexis we are defined by our pioneering approach, and I am proud of our continued advancement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by bringing clarity to innovation and inspiring urgent action to meet the planet’s challenges.”
