MAPFRE Appoints Mónica Zuleta Díaz as New Group Head of Sustainability

Insurance company MAPFRE announced today that it has appointed Mónica Zuleta Díaz as the new Group Head of Sustainability. Díaz replaces Clara Bazán Cea in the role which has involved developing and coordinating MAPFRE´S CSR Policy and corporate reputation, helping subsidiaries and business areas to implement the CSR policy, coordinating the CRS Corporate Annual Report and local reports, and participating in various activities to promote CSR and reputation, including speeches and conferences.

Díaz’s career spans more than 20 years, holding numerous positions focused on areas including human resources and organizational project development. She joined MAPFRE in 2014, and currently serves as Manager of Strategic Planning in the Corporate Strategy and M&A Area. Her new role will be effective January 1, 2021, and Clara Bazán Cea will move to Fundación MAPFRE.

Mark founded ESG Today following a 20 year career in investment management and research. Prior to founding ESG Today, Mark worked at Delaney Capital Management (DCM) in Toronto, Canada, most recently as the firm’s head of U.S. equities. While at DCM, Mark was part of the firm’s ESG team, responsible for evaluating and tracking the sustainability factors impacting portfolio companies, and assessing the suitability of companies for portfolio inclusion. Mark also spent several years in the sell-side research industry, covering the technology and services sectors. Mark holds an MBA from Columbia University in New York, a BBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University in Toronto, and is a CFA charterholder.
