RGREEN INVEST Announces Close of Energy Transition Infrastructure Fund, Reaching €480 Million
French asset management company RGREEN INVEST announced the third closing of its INFRAGREEN IV strategy, reaching commitments of €480 million. INFRAGREEN IV, launched in December 2019, invests in infrastructure projects linked to the energy and climate transition, including both greenfield and brownfield projects. The fund’s target size is €500 million.
Among investors in the fund is the European Investment Bank, which contributed €75 million. The EIB stated that the investment aligns with the organization’s priorities, which include supporting the transition to a low-carbon economy, and climate change resilience.
Nicolas Rochon, President and founder of RGREEN INVEST, said:
“The renewed support of the European Investment Bank is, in this period of uncertainty, a particularly valuable pledge of confidence. Private investors, who continue to believe in energy transition and adaptation to climate change, need to see that public institutions respect their commitments to make ecological and climate transition a priority.”
According to RGREEN INVEST more than €150 million from the INFRAGREEN IV fund have already been invested and committed in European infrastructure projects that aim to enable CO2 emissions reductions, particularly in France.
Ambroise Fayolle, Vice-President of the EIB, said:
“As a European climate bank, we are very proud to support RGREEN INVEST, whose climate ambition is similar to that of the EIB. With this new commitment, our objective is to attract numerous investors at European level to develop innovative and sustainable infrastructure projects. By doing so, we are preparing for the future. We support the future champions of the energy transition.”
