Robeco Hires Lucian Peppelenbos For Newly Created Role of Climate Strategist
International asset manager Robeco has hired Lucian Peppelenbos to join its SI Center of Expertise team, in the newly created position of Climate Strategist.
Robeco’s SI Center brings together its investment professionals focused on sustainable investing. The center consists of four pillars: SI Thought Leadership, SI Client Portfolio Management, SI Research, and Active Ownership. The team is headed by Carola van Lamoen, in addition to her role as Robeco’s Head of Active Ownership.

Prior to joining Robeco, Peppelenbos worked for 3 years at APG Asset Management, in the role of Senior Responsible Investment and Governance Specialist, responsible for ESG integration in investment portfolios and engagement with investee companies with a focus on climate change. Before APG, he spent nearly 8 years at IDH, The Sustainable Trade Initiative.
In his new position, Peppelenbos will be responsible for further developing and enhancing Robeco and RobecoSAM’s climate change strategy to help ensure it remains a leading practice. He will also chair the climate change task force and help establish further steps in lowering the carbon footprint of Robeco’s investments, transitioning to a lower carbon economy.
