VINCI Energies Acquires Offshore Wind Operator EWE OSS
Energy services and infrastructure company VINCI Energies announced the acquisition of German-based EWE Offshore Service & Solutions GmbH (EWE OSS), a specialist in offshore wind project development, operation and maintenance.
According to VINCI Energies, EWE OSS will strategically expand the company’s Omexom brand. Omexom is focused on energy transition solutions, specialising in electricity generation, transmission, conversion and distribution projects, to end usage. EWE OSS will add an offshore wind component to Omexom, and will be developed into VINCI Energies’ offshore competence center. VINCI Energies stated that it will retain all of the EWE OSS’s employees and locations. EWE OSS has 160 employees and 2019 revenues of €30 million.
Frank Westphal, Managing Director of VINCI Energies Deutschland Industry & Infrastructure GmbH, said:
“With this acquisition, we are not only investing in a growth market, but above all in CO2-neutral energy generation and thus in more sustainability. We are gaining a competence platform to extend our existing services and expand them to other markets and countries. This will enable us to develop into a leading independent service provider in the offshore wind power business.”
Irina Lucke and Dr. Jan-Dirk kleine Holthaus, Managing Directors of EWE OSS added:
“This transition means more to us than just a strategic partnership. EWE Offshore Service & Solutions GmbH sees excellent opportunities in the new group structure to further expand its services and gain access to new markets through synergy effects.”
